Kimberly Owen (Kimmy Humphrey) Sentencing Delayed Again in Prime Capital Ventures Fraud Case

Kimberly Owen, also known as Kimberly “Kimmy” Humphrey, is still awaiting sentencing in the federal fraud case connected to the collapse of Prime Capital Ventures.

Owen, a former VP at Prime Capital Ventures, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud after admitting that she conspired with Prime Capital founder Kris Roglieri and her brother Christopher Snyder to defraud clients of the commercial lending company. Federal prosecutors said Prime Capital clients were induced to send millions of dollars in upfront payments based on promises that the company would secure large commercial loans.

Her sentencing was rescheduled for July 28th, but it was postponed again. In the video above, Funder Intel President Shane Mahabir breaks down the latest in the sentencing process, what Owen pleaded guilty to, and how her potential punishment could compare with the 97-month federal prison sentence handed to Kris Roglieri earlier this year.

Kimberly Owen Also Pleaded Guilty to Health Care Fraud

Owen's legal problems extend beyond Prime Capital Ventures.

Federal prosecutors also charged Owen, identified in that case as Kimberly Humphrey a/k/a Kimberly Owen, with health care fraud stemming from pharmacies she operated in Virginia. According to the Department of Justice, the pharmacies fraudulently inflated claims submitted to TRICARE and Medicaid.

One example cited by prosecutors involved prescriptions for a medication containing 1% lidocaine that were billed at approximately $1,200 per prescription, despite similar products being available over the counter for less than approximately $10.

Prosecutors attributed approximately $486,000 in fraudulent claims to the scheme.

What Happens Next for Kimberly Owen?

Owen's sentencing has already been rescheduled multiple times from the original September 2025 date. Funder Intel's latest update explains the new sentencing timeline, the two fraud cases involved, and why Roglieri's sentence may provide some context, but not necessarily a prediction, for what Owen could ultimately receive.
