Listings are submitted by companies or compiled by Funder Intel from public information. Funder Intel is not a lender or broker, does not arrange financing, and does not endorse or guarantee any listed company. Verified means we confirmed the company and its details; it is not a review of their practices. Always compare offers and read your contract before signing. If your company is listed and you want it updated or removed, contact us and we will take care of it.
A business loan broker (often called an ISO in alternative finance) works with a network of lenders and funders to place your deal. A funding marketplace is usually an online platform where you apply once and get matched with several lenders. Many companies do both.
Brokers are usually paid by the lender or funder when a deal closes, and some also charge the borrower a fee. Ask how they are paid before you sign anything.

FOR BUSINESS OWNERS
Working with a broker
What to ask before you share your bank statements or sign an offer.

Checklist
Before you sign

How they’re paid. Ask whether the funder, you, or both pay their fee.

Registration. Some states require commercial finance brokers to register or give disclosures. Ask if they comply where you operate.

Upfront fees. Be cautious of anyone who asks for a large fee before you’re funded.

Your offer. Compare total cost, term and payment schedule, not just the amount.

Broker & marketplace FAQs
A broker, often called an ISO in alternative finance, collects your application and documents, then shops your deal to lenders and funders in their network. They help you compare offers and are usually paid a commission by the funder when the deal closes.
A marketplace is usually an online platform where you apply once and see matches or offers from several lenders. A broker typically works your deal personally. Many companies do both, so check how each one works before you apply.
Many brokers are paid by the lender or funder, but some also charge the borrower a fee. Ask for every fee in writing before you sign and compare the total cost of each offer.
It depends on the state and the type of financing. A growing number of states require commercial financing disclosures, and some require brokers to register or be licensed. Ask whether the broker complies where your business operates.
Verified listings were checked by Funder Intel: we confirmed the company, its LinkedIn company page and the person who submitted it. Pending listings are new and not yet checked. Verification is not a review of a company’s practices or a recommendation.
Brokers and marketplaces can list for free through our Add Your Business form. A company email address and a LinkedIn company page are required, and new listings show as Pending until we verify them.
