SBA LENDER DATABASE

SBA Lender Intelligence Database

Know Where to Send Every SBA Deal

Search and filter the 100 most active SBA 7(a) lenders by loan volume, program, rate tier and reach, with broker notes on deal fit, PLP status and specialties. Built from CY2025 SBA FOIA data. Select any lender for the full profile.

How to use the SBA Lender Intelligence Database

  1. Filter by lender type, geographic reach, average rate and average loan size to narrow the list to lenders that fit your deal.

  2. Use average loan size to find each lender’s sweet spot. A lender averaging $1.2 million rarely wants a $75,000 file.

  3. Check PLP status and specialties, then open a lender’s profile for broker notes on deal fit before you reach out.

Frequently asked questions

What is in the SBA Lender Intelligence Database?

It ranks the 100 most active SBA 7(a) lenders by dollar volume in calendar year 2025, using SBA’s public FOIA loan data. For each lender it shows loan count, total volume, average loan size, average rate, lender type, geographic reach, Preferred Lender (PLP) status, specialties and broker notes on deal fit.

What is an SBA Preferred Lender (PLP)?

Preferred Lenders Program (PLP) lenders have delegated authority from SBA to approve and close 7(a) loans without sending each credit decision to SBA for review. That usually means faster decisions, which matters when a deal has a deadline.

How do brokers use SBA lender data to place deals?

Match the deal to lenders that already do that kind of loan. Look at average loan size, the industries the lender favors, and whether it lends nationally or only in its region. Sending a file to a lender whose numbers match the deal saves time for everyone.

Does a higher average rate mean a lender is more expensive?

Not necessarily. SBA rate caps are higher on small loans, so a lender that does many small loans will show a higher average rate even if it prices competitively. Compare lenders with a similar average loan size.

Is this an official SBA list?

No. The figures come from SBA’s public loan-level data, but the rankings, specialties and broker notes are Funder Intel’s analysis. Lender appetite changes, so confirm current programs and terms with the lender before submitting a file.
