Going from Fintech Meetup in Las Vegas back to Fort Lauderdale, FL, then straight up to Albany, NY, to sit in the sentencing hearing of Kris Roglieri, a major figure in commercial lending, was no easy task. Still, I felt that relaying what happens in the courtroom in this case was very important for lending professionals everywhere and anyone else who wanted to understand it more, given the surprise of it all at the beginning.

Kris Roglieri pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud last November, along with two other co-conspirators. April 3rd was his sentencing. The prosecution recommended 97 to 121 months.

Judge Mae D'Agostino discussed things very frankly, reciting quotes from Kris involving threats with curse words, his tag line FU%K You Pay Me, and other behaviors, including saying he was "the face of the bottomless pit of greed".
